How the service works
Choose the parking product before paying. Street sessions, metered lots, daily parkades, monthly rentals and marina passes have different limits. Read the posted location rules as well as the app’s charge screen. The free street offer does not transfer to every city-owned parking space.
The city also sells reloadable meter cards. At a single-space meter, the page warns that a card can load up to 14 hours/$28. Reinsert the card before leaving to reclaim unused time; the city says forgotten time cannot be reimbursed. This card warning remains separate from the newer free-parking offer, so confirm compatibility before using it.

How does the free on-street offer work?
The city says two complimentary on-street hours are available until December 31, 2027. Log the stay in Passport Parking Canada or at a pay machine. Up to two additional paid hours can be added.

Does that offer cover off-street metered lots?
No. The city expressly excludes off-street metered lots. A nearby street’s free period is not evidence that the parking lot beside it is free.

When are short-term meter charges enforced?
The source states Monday to Saturday,9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Sunday free. Check the particular location’s signs for restrictions beyond meter payment.

What is the ordinary hourly rate after the street offer?
The published street extension rate is $2 per hour, with a 50-cent minimum and 50-cent increments. Additional permitted time is capped; payment does not remove a location’s time limit.

What is the waterfront offer?
The city lists four complimentary hours, then up to four paid extension hours. The marina waterfront rate is $3 per hour after the free period, with 75-cent minimum/increments. Market Square is listed separately at $2 per hour after its four-hour period.

What is the daily parkade charge?
Waterfront and Victoriaville parkades have a posted $5.25 flat charge per stay of up to 24 hours. This is a parkade product, not an on-street meter extension.

The published monthly parkade charge is $92.69 including HST; a surface-lot rental is $74.26 including HST. Contact the parking office about actual availability. Paying several months ahead does not create a discount.

What marina annual pass is offered for 2026?
The All-Day Marina Parking Pass is listed at $249.17 and valid April 1 to March 31, subject to restrictions. It excludes Market Square and reserved boaters-only spaces. The old four-hour pass is not available for 2026.

Can I use a temporary overnight waterfront payment?
The rate table lists $20 overnight,9 p.m. to 9 a.m., seven days a week outside winter months. Another paragraph says longer-than-four-hour or overnight parking requires an All-Day Marina Pass. Confirm your situation with staff before relying on a session extension.

How can a contractor reserve metered work space?
Contractors working at businesses in metered areas can ask Municipal Parking Services about rental meter hoods. These reserve the space for work vehicles near tools and materials. Call 807-625-2370 for parking enquiries.
